Paralysis is one of the most common disabilities resulting from stroke. As many as 9 out of 10 stroke survivors have some degree of paralysis immediately following a stroke. Continued rehabilitation and therapy can help stroke survivors regain voluntary movement even years following their stroke.
The Pelican Centre provides rehabilitation facility to paralysed patients. Accommodation, food and treatment are provided to a limited number of patients whereas out-patients can utilise the physio-therapical facilities of the Centre free of cost.
The rehabilitation facility provided at The Pelican Centre help the muscles of the patient to regain strength and help improve mobility in the areas that are affected as a result of paralysis. The exercises are administered in the presence of a certified physiotherapist in order to avoid any accidental injury.
